![]() Sims 2 also has animation points like that (probably some sort of IK or animation targets), but mostly in relation to spesific objects or other sims. If anyone wonders, the women in the picture are between 1.57 and 1.83 meters tall, so there's not a lot of difference in height compared to the Para examples. In the example of the women, their heads are all roughly the same size even if their height is different (if not vastly different). It shouldn't get significantly smaller or larger even if the height does. However, what really bothers me is the head size. The height (or lack thereof) has to come (or be taken) from somewhere, and the torso or legs is most likely where (I'm short, with short legs and a short torso - yay. (Note how the upper body doesn't differ as much compared to the legs)Īs for animations, I think TS3 had a system of attachment points on hands, which allowed sims to automatically connect to different sims and objects during animations (which is why you sometimes got weird results dragging sims around in moveobjects on)- this could work well with height differences IMO, though that means that the animation can't be 100% canned.Ī person's height will have roughly the "correct proportions" in relation to their own height, in that their height will be roughly equal to their finger to finger length with outstretched arms, your hands will reach to your upper thighs (hip curve), your shoulders are about 3 head widths, and various other measurements. Also the torso length, but as far as I know, that's the secondary main driver of height. ![]() IMO- the height slider should basically adjust the leg length, since that's the main area subject to change. Trying to think of a 2 meter para interacting with a 1.40 meter para, and not quite seeing how it will work out. I wonder how they'll implement this into things like animations and interactions, especially between parafolk of different heights. If not, it's probably just one of those subtle annoyances most people probably won't even notice (unless it starts messing with animations/interactions). If they're not done with the height adjuster, I hope they're working on sorting this out. You'd end up with an adult with a tiny head next to a child with a big head, or very tall paras with large heads in relation to everyone around them, and other weird relative proportion issues which look kinda off. I know it may seem like a subtle difference, and it seems to work fine as long as she's just standing there alone, but it has some rather annoying problems if you want to make very short or very tall paras, especially taking into account kids/teens. I think it makes her shorter in the sense of making her smaller overall, and not quite taking into account adult proportions in relation to height. ![]() There's something strange with the height adjuster. :/ At least they are getting quite a bit of funding and it's growing. I wish I could support them but I'm unemployed atm. You see everything from super cartoony to realistic, so I'm sure you can mod Maggie to look like you want her to look. Also if someone doesn't like the style, it's probably going to be easy enough to change with some custom content, like with Sims. I'm sure there will be further refinements, it's still early. In all, I think they've done well having a balance of style and making the character look good. Also later on, details about how the personality is going to work.Īlso, since I love animals, especially cats, I definitely noticed the cat on the left side in the icon. I'm looking forward to seeing more details about how you customise the look of your para, options, face shapes, etc. I love to see the hair and clothes animated. If I decide to make a paraself, I can make her 1.65cm to be accurate. Heights! I've wanted this feature for so long, plus it's with measurements. I don't know what that means for gameplay but it's a pretty nice feature. It looks like you're not limited to outfit categories and instead name your own sets. I love that the hair is separated into naturals and dyes. Her eyes are really nice and expressive, multi tonal hazel shade. Pause and look at her shoulders, that's where I noticed them. Maggie is super cute! I've noticed that she's got freckles, not only on her face but on her body too.
